Highlights

• Room and pool has undergone nice refurbishments since my last stay to modernize the facility.
• Good resort facilities: nice pool to hang out by, game room with billiards and other games, a surprisingly enjoyable water slide.
• Good shuttle service: to and from Sekupang ferry terminal and to Grand Batam Mall.
• Helpful and friendly staff
• Good selection of breads and pastries for breakfast.
• Christmas Eve dinner event was a delight

Lowlights

• Bathroom still feels outdated. Low water pressure for the shower in my room.
• Struggled to handle the peak period Christmas weekend crowd despite the staff’s best efforts. Breakfast was overcrowded with groups that come slightly later having to wait. Pool towels were not always readily available and we had to wait 45min for the laundry to get ours one time

Final Verdict

Having stayed here in the past, I was quite impressed with the updates to the room and pool area to modernize the compound. The Christmas eve dinner was an unexpected highlight that makes me tempted to return next Christmas. Unfortunately, niggling issues (bathroom that still feels dated, some struggles in handling peak period crowds and a reception-housekeeping request that took multiple reminders to fulfil) prevents me from giving this place my unreserved recommendation. 3.5/5.
