• View marred by buildings in the neighborhood, and perhaps our bad luck with the weather
• While location is decent along the bus route towards Shi Zhao, Fen Qi Hu and Alishan Forest Recreational area, the fact that it’s not directly at one of those spots means it will be hectic squeezing all those attractions in a day’s stay. The hotel had info about a shuttle bus to some spots on the tablet at the reception, but because it was not publicized online we have already made our own plans and was unable to utilize it.

Final Verdict

It was hard coming up with a rating for this stay. Prior to the stay we noticed polarizing reviews online. The negative reviews focused on the price and the fact that the mountain/sunrise views are not truly panoramic with the surrounding buildings of the neighborhood. Meanwhile, the positive reviews highlighted the rooms, service and food. I agree with both sides and think how highly this stay is rated really depends on how much importance one pays to the price and the expectations of the view (which is really nice, but not as nice as the best promotional photos).

Overall it was an enjoyable stay for us, made more so by the helpful staff who helped arranged to collect our luggage from the bus stop while we tried to fit in the day’s itinerary and catch the next bus. 4/5.
